Lake Forest Falls at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, WI - The Lake Forest College women's soccer team had its difficulties Saturday (October 26) at UW-Whitewater, falling to the Warhawks, 7-2. The loss drops the Foresters' record on the year to 6-9-0 while Whitewater moves to 9-6-2.

The home team jumped in front with three goals in the first 30 minutes. Lake Forest got on the scoreboard in the 32nd minute with freshman Melissa Stevenson's (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) ninth goal of the year. Junior Stephanie Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central) recorded the assist, the 14th of her career, tying her for eighth in school history.

Whitewater scored one more goal in the first half and another early in the second before freshman Breanne Kuenzi (Las Vegas, NV/Bonanza) found the back of the net for the fifth time this season, an unassisted goal in the 52nd minute.

Two more Warhawk goals put the game out of reach and provided the final 7-2 margin.

Lake Forest will finish its season next Saturday (November 2) with a home game against Ripon College at 2:30 p.m. The Foresters are 22-3-0 all-time against the Redhawks, including victories in each of the last 11 meetings between the schools.
