Comeback Falls Short for Foresters at Aurora
Landin scores twice in loss

Aviva Landin scored her first two goals of the season.
AURORA, IL - The Lake Forest College women's soccer team lost at Aurora University Thursday (October 3) but did not do so without a fight. After falling behind 4-0, in the first half, the Foresters came storming back but got no closer than the final 5-3 deficit. It marked the first time since September of 1988 that the team lost a game in which it scored three or more times.

After the four first-half goals by Aurora, Lake Forest got on the scoreboard with just 23 seconds remaining in the period on sophomore midfielder Kristen Fink's (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central) third goal of the season.

The home team struck again at the 77:36 mark before a pair of goals by junior forward Aviva Landin (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) brought the Foresters to within two with 8:43 to play. Landin's scores were her first of the season after finding the back of the net 11 times in 2001.

The Foresters will have nine days to recover before their next contest, a Midwest Conference showdown at Grinnell College next Saturday (October 12). The match will begin at 11:00 a.m. Lake Forest will host Beloit College the next day (October 13) at 1:00 p.m.
