LAFIN NAMED MWC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rachel LaFin, a first-year goal keeper from Glen Ellyn, IL (Glenbard West High School), has been named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week. She helped Lake Forest stay in the hunt for a MWC championship tournament bid with an overtime shutout against Beloit on Sunday.  In a crucial match-up with the Buccaneers, LaFin recorded four saves to preserve the 1-0 victory.  In a 3-1 loss to Grinnell on Saturday, LaFin stopped 13 shots.
The Foresters have 3-3 record in the league and LaFin has started every game for Lake Forest. On the season, she has two shutouts and owns a 1.91 goals against average. She has stopped 81% of the shots she's faced and has 64 saves.
