Lake Forest Holds Off North Park for 1-0 Victory

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester women’s soccer team took the early lead and held on for a 1-0 victory over visiting North Park University Friday (October 5) evening. Lake Forest is now 6-5-1 on the season while the Vikings fell to 0-10-2.

The only goal of the game was scored just three minutes and 12 seconds into the contest when Forester senior Helen Eisenberg (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) kicked in her second of the season. She was assisted by sophomore Jocelyn Maneval (Fairfax,Va./James W. Robinson).

Junior Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) recorded three saves and held the visitors scoreless for the entire 90 minutes to register her fourth complete game shutout of the year and ninth of her career. She owns a 1.36 goals against average and .812 save percentage so far this season.

The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play next Saturday (October 13) at home against Grinnell College. The contest against the two-time defending league champs will begin at 11:00 a.m.
