JACKSONVILLE, IL - The Lake Forest College women's soccer team began its weekend road trip with a convincing 6-0 victory at Illinois College on Saturday (October 6th). The win raises the Foresters' overall record to 8-2-0 and their Midwest Conference mark to 4-1-0.

Senior forward Sandi Coutts (Round Lake, IL) started the scoring early with her seventh goal of the season just 49 second into the game. Coutts would go on to score two more times in the game, giving her two three-goal games this year.

Sophomore forward Aviva Landin (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) scored her third goal of the season and second in as many games in the game's 12th minute to make the score 2-0. Senior midfielder Sarah Klerk (Augusta, MI/Gull Lake) recorded her third assist of 2001 on Landin's goal.

Coutts scored for the second time in the game on freshman midfielder Lauren McHugh's (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary) second assist of the year at the 33:39 mark to end the scoring in the first half.

Sophomore forward Stephanie Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central) kicked in her fifth score of the season on an assist from Landin just over 13 minutes after intermission.

Coutts complete the "hat trick" with her third goal of the game in the 72nd minute on an assist from freshman midfielder Kristen Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central), her first of the year.

The game's final goal was scored by freshman forward Carinn Rasak (Santa Fe, NM/Santa Fe Prepoaratory), who now has five this season.

Junior goalkeeper Rachael LaFin (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) recorded two saves to notch her second straight shutout and her third of 2001.

The Foresters will travel to Monmouth College tomorrow for another MWC contest. The game will begin at 11:00 am.
