Foresters Get First Shutout of Season Over Beloit 3-0
Team continues its dominance over Buccaneers

LAKE FOREST, IL - After six straight games on the road for the Lake Forest Women's soccer team, the first game back home was a success as they defeated Beloit College 3-0 on Sunday (October 8th) afternoon in front of 75 shivering-cold fans at Nick Wasylik Field. It is the 11th consecutive time the Foresters have defeated the Buccaneers and they have outscored them 51-1 over that span.

After a scoreless first half, the Foresters finally got warmed up and gave the fans something to cheer about less than ten minutes into the second when senior Kim Sponsel (San Diego, CA/Mira Mesa) scored the game's first goal on a pass from freshman Stephanie Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central). Senior Beth Kohr (Franklin, OH/Franklin) followed six minutes later with her fourth goal of the season on an assist from freshman Samantha England (Prince George, B.C./Kelly Road Secondary) who, 12 minutes later, scored her second goal of 2000 with an assist from freshman Jocelyn Durant (Old Greenwich, CT/Berkshire).

Freshman midfielder
Samantha England had a

Sophomore goalie Rachael LaFin (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) recorded her first shutout of the year and fifth of her career. She now has a 1.26 goals against average and has stopped 84.8% of the shots on goal she has faced.
