LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest junior stopper Dana Tate (Appleton, WI/Appleton East) was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 1-7th.

Thanks in part to the contributions of Tate, the Foresters recorded an astounding three shutouts on the road in four days last week. On Thursday (October 4th), they defeated Concordia University (WI) 1-0. Lake Forest knocked off Illinois College by a score of 6-0 on Saturday (October 6th) and Monmouth College by a 9-0 margin on Sunday (October 7th).

Tate's defensive duties include keeping the ball at the offensive end of the field, tracking the opponent's center midfielder and serving as the link between the defense and the midfield. The Foresters have allowed just eight goals in eleven games this season and no opponent has scored more than twice. Offensively, Tate has assisted on three of the team's 40 goals.

The Midwest Conference Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors.
