Foresters Fall in Double-Overtime at Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was defeated 2-1 at the University of Chicago Wednesday evening (October 8). The Foresters are now 5-6-0 on the season while the Maroons raised their record to 5-4-1.

Chicago scored the game's first goal 30 minutes and 20 seconds into the contest.

Lake Forest tied the score with just 31 seconds remaining in the first half. Junior Emily Sadler (Everett, Wash./Cascade Senior) netted her first goal of the season with an assist credited to senior Caty von Brecht (Cumberland, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy).

After a scoreless second half and 10-minute overtime period, the Maroons won the game with 2:21 remaining in the contest.

Senior goalkeeper Susan Hedrick (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) saved nine Chicago shots on goal, including a pair of potential game-winners in the first overtime.

The Foresters will play at Dominican University next Tuesday (October 14) at 4:00 p.m. before hosting non-conference games against Concordia University Wisconsin next Thursday (October 16) at 4:00 p.m. and Carthage College the following Sunday (October 19) at noon.
