Susan Hedrick Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior debuted with pair of strong performances

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Susan Hedrick (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 9) for her performance in the team’s past two games vs. Carroll University and University of Chicago.

Hedrick, a senior, made her college soccer debut as goalkeeper in a 2-0 loss against Midwest Conference rival Carroll University last Friday (October 3). She had 5 saves and 3 cleared balls off of corner kicks.

In the team’s 2-1 double overtime loss against previously nationally-ranked University of Chicago on Wednesday (October 8), Hedrick had nine saves and defended 15 corner kicks. She came up with an amazing diving save in the second half to keep the score tied at one.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
