Lake Forest's 4-0 Victory at Ripon is Fourth Consecutive Shutout
Foresters have outscored opponents 15-0 so far this season

Melissa Stevenson now has
two hat tricks in her career.
RIPON, WI - The Forester women's soccer team shut out its fourth straight opponent Saturday (September 13). Lake Forest's 4-0 triumph at Ripon College was the Midwest Conference opener for both schools. The four-game shutout streak is the second-longest in the program's history behind the eight-game streak recorded by the 1995 team.

Sophomore forward Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) started the scoring for Lake Forest in the game's 13th minute. It was her second goal of the season and first of three on the day. Stevenson found the back of the net again just 38 seconds before the end of the first period on a "give-and-go" from fellow sophomore forward Tanya Lopez (Albuquerque, NM/St. Pius X). Her goal in the 60th minute gave her the second "hat trick" of her career. She is now tied for the team lead with four goals on the season and is first on the squad with five assists and 13 points.

Junior sweeper Mei-Yun Gibson (Aurora, CO/Eaglecrest) scored her second goal of the year in the 69th minute on a direct kick from approximately 30 yards out.

Freshman goalkeeper Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) needed just one save to hold the Red Hawks scoreless for the game's first 70 minutes. Sophomore Melissa Guillermo (North Las Vegas, NV/Culver Academy) replaced Operzedek and played the final 20 minutes of the shutout.

The Foresters' next game will be on Tuesday (September 16) at Carthage College at 6:00 p.m. The team will put its 1-0 MWC record on the line Saturday (September 20 ) afternoon when it hosts St. Norbert College at 1:00 p.m.
