Foresters Fall to Illinois Wesleyan University

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at home to Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday (September 19). The Foresters fell to 4-2-1 on the season while the Titans raised their record to the same mark.

The visitors were aggressive early and took the lead just 6:24 into the contest. Lake Forest tied the score on freshman Mackenzie Yates’ (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia Preparatory School) team-high seventh goal of the year at 27:34. She was assisted by sophomore Monica Thomas (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos). The first half ended with the score tied at one.

Illinois Wesleyan scored early in the second period as well. The Titans’ goal at 52:34 turned out to be the game winner and they added scores at 62:06 and 67:49.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play at home on Sunday (September 23) against St. Norbert College. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
