Melissa Stevenson leads the team with five goals scored.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women's soccer team hosted Midwest Conference rival St. Norbert College Saturday (September 20) and, after 90 minutes of regulation and a pair of 10-minute overtime periods, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The stalemate is the first for Lake Forest since November of 2000. The team is now 4-1-1 overall in 2003 and 1-0-1 in MWC contests. St. Norbert is 5-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the league.

The Green Knights struck first just two-and-a-half minutes into the game. After allowing just her second goal of the season, Forester freshman goalkeeper Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) stopped each of the visitors' other nine shots on goal.

Lake Forest was held scoreless until sophomore forward Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) connected for her team-high fifth goal of the season at the 54:30 mark. Junior midfielder Carinn Rasak (Santa Fe, NM/Santa Fe Preparatory) was credited with the assist.

Lake Forest out-shot St. Norbert 16-11 in the game and attempted 14 corner kicks compared to just one for the Knights.

The Foresters' next game will be a non-conference contest at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, on Tuesday (September 23). The match will begin at 4:30 p.m.
