LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Forester women's soccer team defeated visiting Concordia University Chicago 4-0 on Tuesday (September 23) to even its overall record on the season at 4-4-0. The loss dropped the Cougars' mark to 1-7-0.

The Foresters took the lead less than five minutes into the contest on freshman Kat Mikuta's (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) third goal of the season. Junior Jocelyn Maneval (Fairfax,Va./James W. Robinson) then netted her first of the year at 12:03 to double the lead. She was assisted by sophomore Mackenzie Yates (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia Preparatory School).

Sophomore Emily Weber (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills Upper School) also scored for the first time this seasonat 54:24 and freshman Jillian Avery (Eden Prairie, Minn./Blake School) closed out the scoring less than three minutes later. Senior Caty von Brecht (Cumberland, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) earned the assist on Avery's first career goal.

Senior goalkeeper Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) made one save in the contest and recorded her third shutout of the year and 15th in her career.

The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play at Lawrence University on Saturday (September 27). The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
