Foresters and Lawrence Play to Scoreless Tie at Home
Operzedek records six saves in 12th career shutout

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team played to a 0-0 tie at home against Lawrence University on Saturday (September 24). The Foresters are now 4-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in Midwest Conference action. The Vikings moved to 2-4-1 overall this season and 1-0-1 in league play.

Lake Forest junior goalkeeper Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) needed six saves to record her first shutout of the year and 12th of her career. She is now 2-1-1 on the season with a 0.77 goals against average.

Lawrence out-shot the home team 11-8 in the game but the Foresters put more shots on goal (7-6).

Lake Forest’s next two games will be against non-conference opponents, beginning with Tuesday’s (September 27) match at Concordia University (IL). The contest will begin at 4:30 p.m. The Foresters will then host Loras College, one of the top-ranked teams in the region, next Sunday (October 2) at noon.
