Foresters Fall at Carthage College
Team avoids shutout with late goal

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team lost 4-1 at Carthage College Wednesday (September 26) night. The Foresters fell to 4-4-1 on the year while the Lady Reds raised their record to 8-1-0.

The home team scored first half goals in the eighth and 44th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Carthage added tallies in the 65th and 74th minutes to put the game away.

Lake Forest finally got on the scoreboard with just 10 seconds remaining in the contest when a cross from senior Marly Ashworth (Acworth, N.H./Fall Mountain Regional) caromed off a Carthage defender and into the goal. Ashworth was credited with her first goal of the season.

The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday (September 29) at home against Lawrence University. The contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
