Foresters Post 2-0 Victory at Lawrence University

APPLETON, Wis. – The Lake Forest College women's soccer team won 2-0 at Lawrence University on Saturday (September 27). The Foresters are now 5-4-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Midwest Conference play this season while the Vikings fell to 3-6-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the league.

The game was scoreless until the 80:27 mark when Lake Forest junior Jocelyn Maneval (Fairfax,Va./James W. Robinson) scored off a pass from freshman Christine Sorenson (Norton Shores, Mich./Grand Haven). It was Maneval's second goal of the year and her third career game-winner. Freshman Kat Mikuta (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) then doubled the visitors' lead just 74 seconds later on her team-high fourth goal of the year.

Senior goalkeeper Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) recorded three saves while blanking the Vikings for 87 minutes. Sophomore Emily Weber (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills Upper School) also made a save during the final three minutes of the game.

The Foresters will continue Midwest Conference play at home against defending conference champion Carroll University on Friday (October 3). The team's Homecoming game will begin at 4:30 p.m.
