BELOIT, WI - After suffering their first Midwest Conference loss of the season a day earlier, the Forester women's soccer team returned to its winning ways at Beloit College on Sunday (September 30th) with a 4-2 victory.

Lake Forest got on the board first when senior Stacy Gunstream (Fort Collins, CO/Rocky Mountain) assisted sophomore Stephanie Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central) for the first time in the game midway through the first half. The goal was the only score for either team in the first half.

The Foresters would find the back of the net again in the game's 60th minute when senior Sandi Coutts (Round Lake, IL/College of Lake County) matched Fink with her fifth goal of the 2001 campaign on an assist from junior Dana Tate (Appleton, WI/Appleton East). Gunstream assisted Fink for the second time in the game less than three minutes later and Tate again fed Coutts for the team's final score five minutes after that. Beloit scored in the 69th and 72nd minutes to close out the scoring.

The two goals by both Fink and Coutts give them each a team-leading six for the season. The assists by Gunstream were her sixth and seventh of 2001 and give her 26 for her career, second-most in school history. Tate's assist were her second and third of the season.

Lake Forest's overall record is now 6-2-0 and they are 3-1-0 in the Midwest Conference. They will travel to Concordia University in Mequon, WI on Thursday (October 4th) for a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm. Next weekend (October 6-7th) they will resume MWC play at Illinois College on Saturday (1:00 pm) and at Monmouth College on Sunday (11:00 am).
