Tanya Lopez Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior recorded four goals and two assists in three games

Tanya Lopez has scored at least once in seven straight games.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Tanya Lopez (Albuquerque, NM/St. Pius X) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 30). She helped lead Lake Forest to three victories in the last seven days.

Lopez scored the game-winning goal with 2:10 remaining in double-overtime in the team’s crucial 2-1 victory at Grinnell College on Saturday (September 25).

The following afternoon, Lopez tallied the squad’s second score in a 3-0 triumph at home over Beloit College. The win gave Lake Forest a 6-0-0 record so far in Midwest Conference play and kept the team atop the league standings.

Finally, the Foresters defeated Concordia University (WI) 4-0 at home on Tuesday (September 28). Lopez assisted on the game’s first goal, scored the next two, and assisted on the fourth.

Lopez currently leads the team with nine goals and 23 points.

Forester Athlete of the Week voting is done by the members of the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
