Kristyne Operzedek Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Goalkeeper had nine saves in 1-0 shutout of Concordia

Lake Forest, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 7) for her performance in the team’s 1-0 victory over Concordia University (Wis.) on Tuesday (September 5).

Operzedek, a senior goalkeeper, tallied nine saves in the contest and recorded her 13th career shutout. The Foresters scored the game’s only goal with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.

Operzedek’s career record now stands at 27-14-3 and she has stopped more than 86% of shots on goal. Her 265 saves in three-plus seasons rank second in team history.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
