Begin Conference Schedule with 6-1 Win Over Ripon
Another fast start leads to
victory
LAKE FOREST - Lake Forest
College extended its winning streak over Ripon College to 11 games with
a convincing 6-1 victory Saturday (September 9th) in the first Midwest
Conference game of the season for both teams. The Foresters are now 2-0-0
overall on the season while Ripon falls to 1-1-0.
After scoring 2 goals in the first
14 minutes on Thursday (September 7th) against North Park University, Lake
Forest took just one minute to start the scoring on Saturday and by halftime
the Foresters had put four in the back of the net.
Six different Foresters scored on
the day, including senior Erin
Sovick (Fort Collins, CO/Poudre) and junior Sandi
Coutts (Round Lake, IL/College of Lake County), who each scored their

Erin Sovick missed the entire '99 season while studying abroad but has
started 2000 with a goal in both games.

Berthiaume (West St. Paul, MN/Simley) each scored their first of this
season and freshmen Aviva
Landin (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) and Samantha
England (Prince George, B.C./Kelly Road Secondary) scored the first
of their careers.
Junior Stacy
Gunstream's (Fort Collins, CO/Rocky Mountain) second and third assists
of 2000 moved her into a tie for 7th on the school's career assist list
and freshman Stephanie Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central) set one up for
the second time in as many games.
Sophomore goalie Rachael
LaFin (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) turned back 9 of 10 shots on goal
to notch her second win of the season.
Ripon's lone goal was unassisted
and scored by Amelia Seitz, the first of her career.
The Foresters will be in action next
when they travel to UW-Whitewater on Tuesday (September 12th) for a 4:00
PM game.
