Head Coach Chris Pier

The 2009 season will be Chris Pier's fifth as head coach of the Foresters and her 14th year (1996-present) with the program. She was the team's head coach from 1996-98, served as an assistant for the next nine years, and took over the reins of the program again after the 2007 fall season. The team is 108-80-2 overall and 29-8 in Midwest Conference South Division matches during her 13 seasons with the program.

Lake Forest posted an 8-7 dual match record and 2-2 mark in the MWC South during the 2008-09 season. The Foresters placed seventh at the 2008 Midwest Conference Tournament.

Pier helped Lake Forest capture the program's first-ever Midwest Conference title in 1999 and the team won a program-best 13 matches (against just three losses) that season. In 2003, the Foresters prevailed in a pair of grueling 5-4 MWC Tournament matches to win their second league championship. Lake Forest players have claimed nine conference titles in singles and three in doubles during her time at the College.

Pier arrived at Lake Forest in 1995 with seven years of coaching experience in the Midwest Conference as an assistant softball and basketball coach at Lawrence University.

Pier received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from St. Norbert College in 1987. She was an All-Conference performer in both softball and basketball and participated in eight conference tournaments during her collegiate career.

Pier is a member of both the St. Norbert College and St. Mary Central (WI) High School Halls of Fame.

Pier was also the head coach of the Lake Forest College softball team in 1996 and an assistant with the program from 1997 to 2004. In addition, she has served as an administrative assistant for the entire Forester Athletic Department since joining the staff in 1995.
