FORESTERS HONORED AT FALL ATHLETIC BANQUET
The Lake Forest College athletic community took a "study break" to honor their student-athletes who participated in a fall sport.  Numerous Forester athletes, many of whom are concluding their first semester final exams, received recognition and awards for being named All-Midwest Conference, Academic All-Conference, Forester Athlete of the Week, Conference Player of the Week, Team Captain, Most Valuable Player and/or Most Improved Player.  Twenty-three athletes were named All-Conference and 17 more received Academic All-Conference honors.
Most Valuable Players for the fall sports' season included senior Erin Nelson (women's soccer), sophomore Matt Spurlin (men's soccer), senior Renee Bojrab (women's tennis), sophomore Michelle Murillo (women's cross country), senior Ben Lampe (men's cross country) and senior David Fee (football).  Most Improved Players included freshman Katy Gannon (women's soccer), sophomore Troy Abeln (men's soccer), junior Valerie Bozich (women's tennis), sophomore Ashley Moats (volleyball), senior Christine McLaughlin (women's cross country), freshman Zackary Warmack (men's cross country) and junior Dustin Cassady (football).  Although volleyball did not award a Most Valuable Player, freshman Kelly Millar received the Coaches' Award.
Additionally, Simon Kotlyar received a photo plaque in recognition of the Burger King Scholar-Athlete award he received in November.  A check for $10,000 was given in Simon's name to the general scholarship fund at Lake Forest College.
