All three doubles matches went to the home team on Thursday against Benedictine. Sophomore Alli Berry (Plymouth, MN/Robbinsdale Armstrong) and junior Anastasia Rudkovskaya (Buffalo Grove, IL/Buffalo Grove) won 8-3 at number one, senior Brittany Richardson (Little Rock, AR/Central) and sophomore Jaime Jackson (Milwaukee, WI/Divine Savior-Holy Angels) prevailed 8-1 at number two, and the team of senior Jill Chudacoff (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park) and junior Kendal Wapotish (McHenry, IL/McHenry) claimed an 8-4 victory at number three. Each of the six singles matches were straight-set wins for the Foresters. Berry triumphed 6-0, 6-1 at the top spot in the lineup and Richardson took both sets by the same 6-1 margin at number two. Chudacoff recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win at number three and Rudkovskaya won 6-1, 6-0 at number four. The matches were a little closer at the number five and six positions as, respectively, Wapotish prevailed 6-3, 6-1 and Jackson edged out her opponent 6-3, 6-4. After falling in each of the three doubles matches to Lawrence, the Foresters earned team points from the top and bottom of their lineup in singles. Berry posted a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory at number one and Jackson won a pair of tiebreakers in her 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) win at number six. Richardson and Jackson were 8-5 victors at number two doubles at St. Norbert but the Foresters came up short at the other two spots. Rudkovskaya knocked off her opponent 6-1, 6-2 at number four singles and Jackson extended her singles winning streak to nine matches with a 6-3, 7-5 triumph at number six. In other Midwest Conference South Division action on Saturday, Grinnell College defeated both Knox College and Monmouth College to secure first place in the division. Those outcomes also mean that Lake Forest will finish second and qualify for the four-team MWC Team Championship Tournament on Friday, October 14.
