FORESTER PREPARE FOR MWC CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH BACK-TO-BACK 9-0 WINS
A team always wants to be peaking at the end of the season and the Lake Forest women's tennis team is doing just that. The Foresters beat Carroll 9-0 last Thursday (Oct. 7) and North Central on Tuesday (Oct. 12) to close out their regular season schedule. Wednesday's (Oct. 13) match with UW-Whitewater was cancelled due to weather.
The Foresters, already the winningest team in school history, enters this weekend's MWC Championship Tournaments with a 12-3 record, including a 6-1 mark versus conference schools. Their only conference set back was a 5-4 loss at Beloit on September 4th. Lake Forest won their first five matches of the season and has won six of their last seven matches.
The Foresters will participate as the South Division's top seed at the four-team MWC Team Championship Tournament on Friday in Rock Island, IL. The Foresters will meet Carroll in the semifinals. Grinnell and Beloit will face-off in the other semifinal. On Saturday and Sunday Lake Forest will compete in the conference individual and doubles championship tournaments, respectively.
