Freshman wins Conference title at number two singles 

Freshman Brittany Richardson claims Conference Championship at #2 Singles

LAKE FOREST, IL - Freshman Brittany Richardson (Little Rock, AR/Central) was named Forester Athlete of the Week for the week of October 14th - 18th.  Taking part in her first Midwest Conference Championship tournament, the freshman locked up the title at number two singles.  Winning in straight sets in each of her four matches, Richardson eventually secured the title with a 6-0, 7-5 victory in the finals.  The win marks the school's first conference title at number two singles since 1984. 

Richardson completed her remarkable season winning 16 of her 17 matches and was a perfect 12-0 at number two singles. 

Forester Athlete of the Week is voted on by the Lake Forest Athletic Department Staff on Thursday.
