Foresters Fall 6-3 to Visiting Elmhurst College
Nonie Carson and Molly Stapleton win twice each

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at home to Elmhurst College on Thursday (October 2). The Foresters fell to 5-7 while the Bluejays raised their mark to 7-5.

Elmhurst opened the contest by winning two of the three doubles matches. The Foresters' victory came at #2 where freshman Nonie Carson (Littleton, Colo./Littleton) and junior Molly Stapleton (St. Louis Park, Minn./Saint Louis Park) combined for an 8-6 triumph.

Carson and Stapleton also accounted for the home team's two singles victories. Carson prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) at the top spot in the lineup and Stapleton won 6-4, 6-1 at #3.

Lake Forest will complete a match against Beloit College on Thursday (October 9). The contest began September 24 in Lake Forest but was suspended by rain. The teams will pick up where they left off at Johnsburg High School. The Foresters will host Robert Morris College the next day at 3:00 in the team's final dual match of the season.
