Foresters Fall Just Short and Even Record at 1-1
Drop close one to Augustana College 5-4

Head Coach Chris Conger
Freshman Jill Chudacoff runs her overall season record to 3-0
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College Women's tennis team evened its season record at 1-1 with a heartbreaking loss to Augustana College Tuesday evening. The Foresters battled to the end, seeing three matches go the distance, but fell just short of the visiting Vikings in a 5-4 loss.

Picking up where they left off, the young Foresters continued to make an impact by accounting for three of the four points. Playing doubles together for the first time in their collegiate careers, freshmen Jill Chudacoff (Highland Park, IL) and Kendal Wapotish (McHenry, IL) continued to show why the future of Lake Forest College tennis is so bright. The two teamed up and cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 win at number three doubles. Neither player was finished there as Chudacoff earned a decisive win at number four singles (6-2, 6-4) and Wapotish battled her way to a win at number six singles (7-6 (9-7), 2-6, 6-4).

Senior Abbey Jennings (Logan, OH/Logan) also earned a victory at number five singles (6-3, 6-3) to round out the scoring for the Foresters.

The Foresters begin Midwest Conference play on Saturday (September 13th) when they travel to DePere, Wisconsin to take on St. Norbert College at 12:00 p.m.  Staying on the road, Lake Forest will head to the College of Lake County and Carthage College on Sunday (September 14th). The two matches begin at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively.
