Alli Berry Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Senior helped Foresters defeat four conference schools

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s tennis player Alli Berry (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (September 11) for her performance in four Forester victories over fellow league teams.

Berry, a senior, won 6-1, 6-1 at number one singles and 8-0 at the top doubles spot in the lineup in the team’s 6-3 victory at home over Lawrence University on Wednesday (September 5). Two days later the Foresters’ top player won again at both spots without surrendering even a game against Ripon College in the squad’s 7-2 triumph.

Lake Forest defeated Knox College 8-1 at home in its first MWC South Division match of the year on Saturday (September 8). Berry was again victorious in both singles (6-1, 6-1) and doubles (8-2) play. Finally, in a 5-4 divisional victory over Monmouth College the following afternoon, Berry was defeated 8-5 in doubles but rebounded for a 6-3, 7-6 win in singles.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Berry also earned the award once during each of her first three years on the team.
