Foresters Rebound from Pair of Losses to Defeat Lawrence
Team falls to Cornell and Wheaton on Saturday, win on Sunday

LAKE FOREST, IL - After falling 9-0 to both Cornell College and Wheaton College at Carthage College on Saturday (September 11), the Forester women’s tennis team defeated Lawrence University at home the following day. The team’s record on the season is now 2-2.

Lake Forest won all three doubles matches on Sunday. Freshman Alli Berry (Plymouth, MN/Robbinsdale Armstrong) and sophomore Anastasia Rudkovskaya (Buffalo Grove, IL/Buffalo Grove) triumphed 6-3, 6-4 at number one. Junior Brittany Richardson (Little Rock, AR/Central) teamed with sophomore Kendal Wapotish (McHenry, IL/McHenry) for a grueling 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory at number two. At number three, junior Jill Chudacoff (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park) and freshman Heather Kelley (Narangansett, RI/Narangansett) prevailed 6-3, 6-2.

Berry was also victorious at number one singles (6-0, 6-2). Richardson registered a 6-1, 7-5 win at number two and Chudacoff did not lose a single game at number three. Wapotish (6-4, 6-2) and Kelley (6-4, 7-5) rounded out the lineup with victories at number five and six, respectively.

The Foresters will be at home again in its next match, a 3:00 p.m. contest against North Central College on Tuesday (September 14). Lake Forest will take on three of its four Midwest Conference South Division opponents next weekend (September 18-19). The team will play at Monmouth College at 10:00 Saturday morning and at Knox College at 2:00 that afternoon. Lake Forest and Grinnell, who has the opposite schedule on Saturday, will then face off at Monmouth at 9:00 in the morning on Sunday.
