Yasmine Farag Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman wins first six collegiate matches

LAKE FOREST, IL - Women's tennis player Yasmine Farag (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) was named the Forester Athlete of the week for the seven days ending September 12th, 2001. The freshman was victorious in the first three singles matches as well as the first three doubles matches of her collegiate career.

On Saturday (September 8th), the Foresters opened up their Midwest Conference season with triumphs over Grinnell College (7-2) and Illinois College (8-1). Farag debuted with victories at number five (against Grinnell) and number four (against IC) singles and, along with senior Kendra Reilly (Oyster Bay, NY/Cold Spring Harbor), two wins at number two doubles.

In Wednesday's (September 12th) 6-3 defeat of North Central College, Farag was again victorious at number four singles and, with Reilly, at number two doubles.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department staff each Thursday.
