Alli Berry Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior helped lead team to three wins over conference teams

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s tennis player Alli Berry (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (September 13) for her performance in three victories against Midwest Conference teams over the weekend (September 7-9).

Berry, a senior, did not surrender a game in the Foresters’ 7-2 win at home over Ripon College on Friday. She posted an 8-0 victory at number one doubles and won 6-0, 6-0 at the top spot in the singles lineup.

She also won twice on Saturday in the team’s 8-1 triumph over visiting Knox College. The margins of victory were only slightly smaller than the day before as she prevailed 8-2 in doubles and 6-1, 6-1 in singles.

Berry suffered her only loss of the week in Sunday’s 5-4 win at home over Monmouth College. She fell 8-5 in doubles but rebounded with a 6-3, 7-6 victory in singles. She is now 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles matches on the season.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Berry was also named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for the fourth time in her career on Tuesday (September 11).
