Foresters Win at Home on Three Consecutive Days
Team defeats Wisconsin Lutheran, Ripon, and Monmouth

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College women’s tennis team defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College 9-0 on Thursday (September 15), knocked off Ripon College by the same score on Friday (September 16), and defeated fellow Midwest Conference South Division foe Monmouth College 6-3 on Saturday (September 17). All three victories came at home and raised the Foresters’ overall record to 5-1 and their MWC South mark to 2-1.

Lake Forest won all nine matches against Wisconsin Lutheran, beginning with doubles. Sophomore Alli Berry (Plymouth, MN/Robbinsdale Armstrong) and senior Brittany Richardson (Little Rock, AR/Central) prevailed 8-1 at number one, juniors Anastasia Rudkovskaya (Buffalo Grove, IL/Buffalo Grove) and Kendal Wapotish (McHenry, IL/McHenry) triumphed 8-3 at number two, and sophomore Jaime Jackson (Milwaukee, WI/Divine Savior-Holy Angels) teamed up with freshman Anne Demere (Savannah, GA/Saint Vincent's Academy) for an 8-0 victory at number three.

Rudkovskaya and Jackson both recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins at number four and six singles, respectively, and Wapotish defeated her opponent at number five 6-2, 6-0. The matches were far more competitive in the top half of the lineup. Berry won 7-5, 6-1 at number one, Richardson triumphed 7-6 (9-7), 6-0 at number two, and fellow senior Jill Chudacoff (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park) outlasted her opponent 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) at number three.

Berry and Richardson won 8-1 at the top doubles spot against Ripon and Rudkovskaya and Wapotish edged out the Red hawks’ number two team 9-8 (7-4). Chudacoff teamed up with Demere at number three for an 8-0 victory.

Berry (6-1, 6-1), Richardson (6-1, 6-2), Chudacoff (6-2, 6-3), and Rudkovskaya (6-3, 6-2) prevailed again at numbers one through four, respectively. Jackson moved up a spot in the lineup to number five and won 6-1, 6-3. Demere made her collegiate singles debut at number six and recorded a 6-2, 6-4 victory.

The Foresters took two of three doubles matches against Monmouth. Berry and Richardson needed three sets but came out on top of a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 decision at number one and the number three team of Chudacoff and Jackson won 6-3, 6-4.

The home team also claimed four of the six single matches. Berry won both sets 6-3 in her victory at number one singles and Richardson recorded a 6-4, 6-0 win at number two. Rudkovskaya prevailed 6-3, 6-1 at number four and Jackson defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1 at number six.

Lake Forest will travel to Beloit College on Tuesday (September 20) and Carthage College on Wednesday (September 21). Both matches will begin at 3:00 p.m.
