Lake Forest, Ill. - The Forester women’s tennis team had its Thursday (September 28) match against Cornell College cancelled after the doubles competition and Lake Forest fell 5-4 at home to Lawrence University the next day. The Foresters are now 3-3 on the season with all three losses coming to Midwest Conference North Division foes. Lawrence raised its mark to 8-4.

Cornell claimed all three doubles matches on Thursday before the rain fell and cancelled the rest of the match, which will not count on either team’s record.

Lawrence won at both of the top two doubles positions on Friday. Sophomore Anne Demere (Savannah, Ga./Saint Vincent's Academy) and freshman Molly Stapleton (St. Louis Park, Minn./Saint Louis Park) recorded the Foresters’ only doubles win, 8-1, at number three.

The teams split the six singles matches. Junior Alli Berry (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) improved her record on the year at number one to 5-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph. Senior Anastasia Rudkovskaya (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) fell 6-3 in the first set at number three before winning the second 6-1 and the third-set tiebreak 10-6. Finally, senior Kendal Wapotish (McHenry, Ill./McHenry) remained perfect on the year at number four with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

The Foresters will host Milwaukee School of Engineering on Tuesday (October 3) at 3:00 p.m.
