Lake Forest Falls at Home to Grinnell College
Team will have #2 seed at MWC Team Tournament

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester women’s tennis team fell 9-0 to visiting Grinnell College Saturday (September 29) in a match-up of the top two teams in the Midwest Conference’s South Division. Lake Forest fell to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in divisional matches while the Pioneers raised their overall record to 8-2 with their third victory in as many league matches.

Grinnell took each of the three doubles matches to start the contest. The closest the home team came to a victory was at number one where senior Alli Berry (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) and junior Anne Demere (Savannah, Ga./Saint Vincent's Academy) fell 9-7.

The visitors were also victorious throughout the singles lineup with Berry’s 6-0, 6-5 loss at number one being the closest match.

Grinnell will be the top seed in the South Division at the four-team MWC Championship Tournament on October 12 while the Foresters will be the division’s number two seed.

Lake Forest’s next match will be on Thursday (October 4) at home against Concordia University Wisconsin. The contest will begin at 3:30 p.m.
