Foresters Clinch Top Spot in MWC South with 6-3 Win Over Knox
Team wins third straight division title

The Foresters have finished 1st in the MWC South in each of Chris Conger's three years.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women's tennis team defeated Knox College 6-3 on Sunday (September 30th) to clinch first place in the Midwest Conference South Division. It marks the third consecutive year the team has accomplished that feat under third-year head coach Chris Conger. Lake Forest is now 8-2 overall on the season and a perfect 3-0 in MWC South Division play.

Senior Jamie Irons (Neenah, WI/Neenah) won at number three singles to raise her individual record on the season to 8-1. Sophomore Sarah Roberts (Plainfield, IL/Lyons Township) is now 5-3 on the year after winning at number four. Freshman Yasmine Farag (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) won at number five and Jackie Pieczkiewicz (Grayslake, IL/Grayslake Community) won at number six to raise their season records to 6-2 and 8-2, respectively.

In the doubles competition, Irons and Roberts played and won at number two. The duo is now 7-2 on the season and 2-0 at the number two position. The newly formed partnership of Farag and senior Vanessa Linsday (Englewood, CO/Englewood) won their second match together in as many tries.

The Foresters' final two matches prior to the MWC Championship will be on Friday (October 5th) at Lawrence University at 5:30 pm and on Saturday (October 6th) at St. Norbert College at 11:00 am. The MWC Championships will be the following weekend (October 12-14th) in Rockford, IL.
