Forester's Open Season with a Smash
Defeat Benedictine 7-2 on the road

Head Coach Chris Conger
The Foresters have won their season opener in each of Chris Conger's four years.
LISLE, IL - Fresh off their 10-3 season, and second place finish in the Midwest Conference Championship, the Lake Forest Women's Tennis team began the 2002 campaign in grand fashion. Opening on the road, the Forester's traveled to Lisle, Illinois and coasted to a 7-2 victory over Benedictine University Tuesday afternoon.

Seven Forester's successfully won their first match of the season led by freshman Courtney Livingston (Skokie, IL/ Niles North) at number one singles. Livingston won her first collegiate match soundly, defeating her opponent in straight sets (6-2, 6-3). Fellow freshman Brittany Richardson (Little Rock, AR/Central) also played an integral role in the season opener, winning both of her matches. Richardson began by winning her number three singles match in straight sets (6-4, 6-0). Teaming up with senior captain Angie Kral (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) later in the day, the two overpowered Benedictine's number one singles team (8-1).

The Forester's will attempt to make it two in a row when they play host to Illinois College on Saturday (September 7th) at noon. Weather permitting, the match will be the first on the Lake Forest College's new tennis courts located behind the Sports Center. Lake Forest will then travel to Naperville, Illinois for a non-conference match versus North Central College.
