Break in new courts with 8-1 triumph over Illinois College

Head Coach Chris Conger
Senior Captain Angie Kral paced the foresters with two victories versus Illinois College
LAKE FOREST, IL - Just four days after winning their season opener on the road, the Lake Forest College Women's tennis team returned home to record their first Midwest Conference victory of the season. Playing the first-ever match on their brand new home courts, the Foresters hammered Illinois College 8-1 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

All eight of the Foresters won at least one match on the day, and three recorded two victories as seven of the eight matches were won in straight sets. Paving the way for Lake Forest once again was senior captain Angie Kral (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central). Kral battled through a tough three set victory at number two singles (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) and later teamed with freshman Courtney Livingston (Skokie, IL/ Niles North) for another win at number one doubles (6-2, 6-1). Freshman Shannon Pyle (Chatham, IL/ Glenwood) and seniorRobyn Slater (Granite City, IL/Granite City) also cruised to their win at number three doubles (6-0, 6-0).  Pyle's win was her second of the day after also winning her number six singles match (6-0, 6-2).

Lake Forest will put their perfect 2-0 record on the line Monday (September 9th), when they travel to Naperville, Illinois for a non-conference match versus North Central College.  The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.  The Foresters then return home Thursday (September 12th) for their match with Concordia University (WI) to be held on the courts behind the Sports Center at 3:00 p.m.
