Rand Smith has taught at Lake Forest College since 1977,
specializing in the political economy of advanced industrial
societies. His regular courses include Western European politics,
Latin American politics, and U.S. Energy and Environmental Policy,
as well as a First Year Studies course on American roots music.
Professor Smith's research focuses on the politics of the left, labor,
and industrial change in France, Italy, Spain.
