About the Author
Hello! My name is David Smith
and I am a junior at Lake Forest College
in Lake Forest, Illinos. I am double-majoring in History and Economics
and I am minoring in Political Science. My historical interests center
mostly upon American history, particularly the twentieth century, but I
am also interested in English history and World War II.
I was born on April 26,
1980 in Mission Hills, California, which is part of Los Angeles. As a child
I lived in Vancouver, Washington, Simi Valley, California, Encinitas, California,
and finally for the last nine years I have lived in Thousand Oaks, California.
I have a sister, Laura, who is 15, and a brother, William, who is ten.
On campus I am a writer
and the Assisstant Sports Editor for the Stentor,
(Lake Forest's newspaper) where I try to do as little work as possible.
Some of my past summer jobs include head box breaker-upper for the shipping
department of Jafra Cosmetics, a carpenter's assisstant, a knife salesman
(this lasted nearly three days), a computer data fixer, and a cashier at
Burger King. I do not reccomend any of them.
My only outside interests
are sports and film. I am a fanatical Notre
Dame football fan. In this case the word fan is interchangeble with
"sickness." I also closely follow the Los
Angeles Lakers, who won the NBA title last season, and the Houston
Astros, who have not been to the World Series once in their 38-year history.
These are my ten favorite
films ever made. Click on the poster image to go to each film's page on
the Internet Movie Database. This site
tells you anything you could want to know about the film.
