What are the
places at which festivals are usually held?
Where should our class
festival be held? Be sure to think about where the other groups will
want to have their events. You may have to talk to the other groups
about their plans and consider changes after you hear your classmates’
presentations of their plans. (You can choose more than one place for the
festival to be held.)
Return to the home
page. Click on "The Acropolis Experience" button.

Can you identify any
of the buildings in the movie from what you saw in the map?
What are the main features
of the places you will be creating in the classroom for the festival?
How will you turn the
classroom into these places?
Return to the homepage
and Click on "The Acropolis Experience" again. This time, select
"How the Parthenon was Built."

What themes
do you see in the decorations of the Parthenon?
How will you decorate
the places you will create in the classroom? What ideals will these
decorations communicate?
Will you need the help
of any other groups? If so, what will you need from them?
Based on the groups’ suggestions,
the artist should draw a map of the "Classroom Acropolis" where our festival
will be held with all of the structures your group plans to build.
What kind
of activity will you create for your classmates to display the structures
you create?
How will you get your
classmates involved?
The recorder should write
a detailed plan of the activity that includes answers to the following
questions:
Will this
activity be for the whole class or for small groups?
How will you get the
whole class involved? What role will they play; will they be an audience
or participants?
What role will each
of you play in the activity? For example, will you lead a small group?
Will one of you lead a tour while the rest play the roles of ancient festival-goers?
What materials will
you need?
Prepare to discuss your
plan with the teacher and to share and get suggestions from the whole class.
Go to the Conclusion
page when you are finished.
