April 10, 2009 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Lake Forest Drops Two to Visiting Robert Morris
Four base hits and as many walks led to a 6-run first inning for Robert Morris in game one. The Eagles also plated one in the second inning, two in the third, and one in both the fourth and fifth. The Foresters scored their only run of the game with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. Junior Sam Pinsonneault (Manchester, N.H./New Hampton) singled in freshman Leslie Harshey (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein), who also reached on a base hit. Sophomore Kaylee Gendrich (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) had Lake Forest's only other base hit in the contest. Game two was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Forester junior Mallory Norton (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) belted her second home run of the season. Lake Forest sophomore pitcher Gretchen Galasek (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) did not allow a hit until the fifth inning and kept the Eagles off the scoreboard until surrendering a two-run homer in the sixth. The visitors then put the game out of reach with four runs in the seventh. In addition to Norton's round-tripper, Harshey, Pinsonneault, and senior Hannah Michal (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake) also had base hits in the contest. Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play at home against Illinois College on Monday (April 13). The doubleheader will begin at 3:00 p.m. Box Scores: Game 1 | Game 2
