Jeanette Andresen Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Junior batted .591 and posted 3-0 record in seven league games

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Jeanette Andresen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (April 21) for her performance in seven league games during the previous seven days.

Andresen, a junior pitcher/outfielder, was 3-for-7 with two runs scored in a doubleheader split with visiting Illinois College last Wednesday (April 15). She also pitched all six innings of game two, a 10-1 victory, and allowed just five hits while striking out four in the contest.

Lake Forest won four of five games, including the two that Andresen pitched, at the MWC Classic over the weekend (April 18-19). She batted a team-high .667 on the weekend with a double, home run, four runs scored, and five batted in. She sacrificed the eventual winning run to third in the bottom of the seventh inning of a 6-5 win over Lawrence on Saturday and her homer with a runner on base scored the final runs of Sunday’s 5-3 triumph over Carroll.

She batted .591, slugged .773, and had a .640 on-base percentage in the seven games combined.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information directors. Andresen was the league’s Pitcher of the Week once each of the last two seasons.
