Tracy Rainey Named Second Team All-Region, Mallory Norton Third Team

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Teams were released Tuesday (May 5) and a pair of Lake Forest College players made the list. Junior shortstop Tracy Rainey (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) was a Second Team selection and junior third baseman Mallory Norton (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) was named to the Third Team.

Rainey, who earned Third Team All-Region honors two years ago, set one team record with 18 doubles during the 35-game season and matched another with 54 base hits. Her .482 batting average, 40 runs batted in, 87 total bases, .777 slugging percentage, and season-ending 15-game hitting streak also rank among the program's top three single-season performances. In addition, she led the squad with 31 runs scored and tied for the team lead with five home runs.

Norton batted .414 and slugged .603 on the season and her 48 base hits are tied for the fifth-highest total in team history. Among them were six doubles, two triples, and four home runs and she finished the year with 26 runs scored and 29 driven in.

The Foresters finished the year with an overall record of 17-18 and claimed their fourth consecutive Midwest Conference South Division title by winning 10 of 13 league games.
