Junior forward Katie McCants (Menasha, WI/Menasha) led Lake Forest in scoring for the second time this year with a season-high 14 points. McCants shot 5-for-9 from the field and made all four of her attempts from the free throw line. She also added five rebounds and three assists. Sophomore guard Tiffany Rudak (Tinley Park, IL/Victor J. Andrew) and freshman guard Kandyce Green (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) had nearly identical scoring statistics. Rudak and Green both scored 13 points and shot 5-for-9 from the field, including 1-for-2 from three-point range. They both made a pair of free throws, although Rudak needed just three attempts while Green had four tries from the line. Each of them was also credited with four steals. The Foresters shot 6-for-14 from behind the three-point arc, where sophomore guard Sherry Wagner (Chicago, IL/Mother McAuley) and senior guard Jenni Klusman (New Berlin, WI/New Berlin West) each connected on two of three attempts. While Lake Forest committed 20 turnovers, they tallied 24 steals and forced Illinois College into 38 miscues. The home team got off to a fast start by scoring the first 18 points of the game. The Lady Blues cut the lead to 14 but eventually fell behind by 25 at halftime (41-16). Lake Forest has scored more than twice as many first half points (192-95) as their opponents this season. The lead fluctuated between 21 and 29 points throughout the second half. The Foresters are now 5-1 overall on the season and will host another
MWC foe, Monmouth College, at 6:00 pm on Tuesday (December 4th).
