The Brown Technology Resource Center

The Brown Technology Resource Center, which opened in 2004, provides software support and training for faculty, staff, and students at Lake Forest College. Located in room 208 of the Donnelley and Lee Library, the TRC has six PCs and three Macs available for training sessions or individual use.

The TRC houses a variety of scanners, including feed, film and slide scanners, along with color and poster printers. The center also contains video conversion equipment to transfer taped video to digital format on PC or Mac platforms. All equipment is available on a walk-in basis, but to guarantee access to one of the video stations and staff support, there is a sign-up sheet.

Containing software for use across disciplines and divisions, the TRC provides text, image, audio, and video editing software as well as web development and animation software. In addition to printed instructions, knowledgeable student staff are on hand to assist with software and equipment training and use.

The TRC operates on the following schedule:

» Sundays - 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
» Mondays-Thursdays - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
» Fridays - 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
» Saturdays - 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Please consult the library's schedule for hours of operation during finals and breaks.
