News & Notes Contact: Scott Rucker, SID The Forester women's team was paced by junior Sarah Simpson's (Colorado Springs, CO) 95th place (out of 209 total runners) finish. It was the seventh time (out of ten meets) that Simpson was Lake Forest's top finisher. She completed the five-kilometer course in 20:20, the 13th fastest time in school history and Simpson's career-best. Simpson, who along with Jennifer McGuire (San Francisco, CA) ran at the regional meet last year, improved her place by 40 spots from last year's meet. Fellow junior Michelle Murillo (Des Plaines, IL) followed closely behind this year with a time of 20:26, good for a 100th place finish and the 15th fastest time in school history. Murillo now holds four of the top 15 times in the school record books. McGuire ran a solid 20:44 (113th place) and freshman Melissa Brown (Cape Coral, FL) continued her strong late season performance with a time of 20:49 (119th place). McGuire and Brown's times were the 22nd and 23rd fastest at Lake Forest and personal-bests for both runners. Jillian Hibler (Salt Lake City, UT) rounded out the top five finishers for the Foresters and also ran a personal-best time (21:08/131st place). On the men's side, Eric Crawley (Braintree, MA), Sean Smith (Evergreen, CO), and Zack Warmack (Idaho Springs, CO), ran within 23 places of one another, led by Crawley's 155th place finish (out of 200 total runners) with a time of 30:06. Smith completed the eight-kilometer course in 30:59 (169th place) and Warmack crossed the finish line in 31:27 (178th place).
