Foresters Compete in Loyola’s Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational
Men place 21st, women 23rd in Maroon Division

second week in a row.
CHICAGO, IL - The Lake Forest College cross country teams took a short trip to Chicago Saturday (October 1) to compete in the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago. The Forester men laced 21st and the women 23rd in the event’s Maroon Division. Macalester College shared the division’s team title on the men’s side with the University of Indianapolis and the women’s crown with Ferris State University.

Junior Katie Snowden (Toronto, ON/York Mills Collegiate Institution) led the Lake Forest women with a 67th-place finish and a 5-kilometer time of 20:16. Senior Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) was the team’s second runner in 161st place at 21:55. Freshman Mackenzie Keeley (Calgary, AB/Lord Beaverbrook) finished in a second under 22 minutes and three spots behind Lindsey. Juniors Leann Kimmons (Centennial, CO/Eaglecrest) and Liz Martinez (Chicago, IL/Cristo Rey Jesuit) rounded out the Foresters’ top five in 176th and 185th places, respectively.

Senior Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI/Airport Senior) was the top finisher among the Lake Forest men in 111th place with a season-best 8-kilometer time of 28:47. Freshman Andrew Hutchinson (Redwood City, CA/Sequoia) was next on the squad with a time of 29:57, good for 158th place. Senior Will Pittinos (Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity) finished just three places and 15 seconds behind Hutchinson. Freshman Asa Reynolds (Bethesda, MD/Walt Witman) and sophomore Grant Shaw (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey) completed the team’s top five in 204th and 225th places, respectively.

After a weekend off of racing, Lake Forest will host the 7th Annual Forester Invitational on Saturday, October 15. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m. and take place at Half Day Forest Preserve in Vernon Hills.
