KENOSHA, WI - The Lake Forest College cross country teams competed in the UW-Parkside Invite Saturday (October 18). The women finished 23rd in the field and the men placed 15th. Indiana Wesleyan University won the women's race and UW-Whitewater took the men's competition.

Freshman Katie Snowden (Toronto, ON/York Mills Collegiate Institution) was the Foresters first female finisher in the 5K race with a time of 20:16, good for 81st place overall. Her times have been between 19:53 and 20:34 in each of her six races so far this year. Freshman Estafania Luna (Highwood, IL/Highland Park) was second on the team with a time of 21:40. Freshman Liz Martinez (Chicago, IL/Cristo Rey Jesuit) and sophomores Catherine Norton (South Boston, MA/Phillips Andover Academy) and Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) rounded out the team's top five.

On the men's side, freshman Dan Hankosky (Orland Park, IL/Carl Sandburg) continued to lead the Foresters. He completed the 8K course in 28:15 and placed 85th. Sophomore Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI/Airport Senior) ran a season-best time of 28:23 and finished in 94th. Senior Beau Llewellyn (Oro Station, ON/Eastview Secondary School), junior Logan Dick (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic), and sophomore Will Pittinos (Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity) ended up in 157th, 173rd, and 177th places, respectively.

While the teams were running in Kenosha, their head coach was in Hawaii putting herself through a much more grueling competition. Tina McDonie was one of more than 1,500 competitors in this year's Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

After a weekend off, Lake Forest will host the Midwest Conference Championship Meet on Saturday, November 1. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
