October 30, 2004 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Three Foresters Earn All-Midwest Conference Honors For the first time in team history, the Forester men had two runners earn all-conference honors. Sophomore Dan Hankosky (Orland Park, IL/Carl Sandburg) completed the 8-kilometer course in 27:34 and placed 15th, four spots and 24 seconds ahead of freshman Humberto Palmerin (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park). Junior Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI/Airport Senior) was the squad’s third runner in 32nd place with a time of 28:36. Senior Logan Dick (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic) placed 43rd in 29:24 and junior Will Pittinos (Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity) rounded out the team’s top five in 69th place with a time of 30:50. On the women’s side, sophomore Katie Snowden (Toronto, ON/York Mills Collegiate Institution) placed eighth with a 5-kilometer time of 20:07. The next Forester finisher was freshman Elisa Luna (Highwood, IL/Highland Park) in 33rd place with a time of 21:28, followed by sophomore Leann Kimmons (Centennial, CO/Eaglecrest) just four places and 17 seconds later. Freshmen Laura Desjarlais (Nashua, NH/Derryfield) and Jessica Dock (West Bend, WI/West Bend West) were the team’s fourth and fifth runners, respectively. Desjarlais finished 52nd in 22:58 and Dock was just two places and five seconds behind her. Hankosky and Snowden became the first Lake Forest runners to earn all-conference honors more than once. Hankosky placed 11th in last year’s championship meet and Snowden was 10th. Select Foresters will close out the season at the NCAA Midwest Regional Meet on November 13.
