First Forester Female to Win a Race
Forester freshman Katie Snowden (Toronto, ON/York Mills Collegiate Institution) made history on the women's side by placing first out of 45 runners with a 5K time of 20:16. She became the first Lake Forest female in the nine-year history of the program to win a race. Sophomore Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) placed fifth with a time of 22:00 and freshman Estafania Luna (Highwood, IL/Highland Park) was just 17 seconds behind Lindsey in seventh place. Sophomore Catherine Norton (South Boston, MA/Phillips Andover Academy) and freshman Ashley Brant (John's Island, SC/Old Fields School) rounded out the Foresters' top five in 15th and 32nd places, respectively. Freshman Dan Hankosky (Orland Park, IL/Carl Sandburg) paced the men's team with his third-place finish and personal-best 8K time of 27:43. Sophomore Derek Meiring (Carleton, MI/Airport Senior) and senior Beau Llewellyn (Oro Station, ON/Eastview Secondary School) placed seventh and eighth with times of 28:54 and 29:11, respectively. Sophomores Chris Driscoll (Lake Forest, IL/Pope John XXIII Regional) and Will Pittinos (Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity) made Lake Forest the first team in the meet to have five runners cross the line. They finished 11th and 12th, respectively. Lake Forest will host the 5th Annual Forester Invitational next Saturday (October 11). The women's 5K race will start at 11:00 a.m. and the men's 8K race will follow at 11:45. Forester Results: Women
